Vikings set course for more cruise calls at Dover!

Viking Cruises set for 60 port of call visits through to 2025

In the same week that the Viking Neptune sailed into Dover for its inaugural call, a new three-year schedule has been announced with 60 port of call visits from Viking Cruises. Starting from now and continuing through to 2025, it becomes the largest set of sailings that Dover has ever welcomed from Viking.

Sonia Limbrick, Head of Cruise at the Port of Dover said: “We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Viking Neptune to Dover for the first time this week, only four months since it became Viking’s newest ship. We have a fantastic relationship with Viking and I’m excited to take it to the next level in the coming years.”

“At the doorstep of the Garden of England and with exciting plans for future expansion of the cruise terminals, Dover provides world class travel to hundreds of thousands of cruise passengers every year. We are thrilled that Viking’s customers will get to experience this, and Kent’s inspiring culture, history and charm now and beyond.”

Wendy Atkin-Smith, Managing Director of Viking UK, said: "With its interesting history and superb location, Dover is a very popular port of call for our guests from all around the world who enjoy exploring every corner of Kent. Based on high levels of demand we have opened up bookings for most of our itineraries, including British Isles Explorer, through until the end of 2025 so we're looking forward to calling in to Dover on our small ocean ships, which can accommodate 930 guests, over the next few years."

The 60 port of call visits scheduled up to 2025, will see several Viking ocean ships including the Viking Venus, the Viking Neptune, the Viking Jupiter, the Viking Mars, the Viking Saturn and the Viking Sky all sail into Dover, with three inaugural calls.

Viking’s newest ocean ship, the Viking Neptune, was named with a celebration in Los Angeles in January 2023. It was welcomed into Dover this week on 7th May for its first port of call visit here.
