Saga's Spirit of Discovery to set sail from Dover

The maiden voyage of Saga's first new build cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery, will sail from Dover on 10 July 2019 it has been revealed.  Saga has operated cruises from Dover since it first launched its cruise business in 1997 with the Saga Rose.

A programme of 11 cruises from Dover on Spirit of Discovery went on sale today (25 September) featuring itineraries including the Baltic, Norwegian Fjords, the Mediterranean, and round-Britain.

The 58,250gt, 236m long Spirit of Discovery will be Saga's first new build ship.  To be built at the Meyer Werft yard in Germany, she will be joined by a second new ship, Spirit of Adventure in 2020.

The Port of Dover is the busiest cruise port in the south east and has seen considerable investment in two dedicated cruise terminals.
